Part-Time Medical Receptionist

Temporary to Permanent | £12.21 per hour

Are you a friendly, organized individual with a passion for healthcare? We’re recruiting a Part-Time Medical Receptionist to join a busy medical practice primarily based in Scotter. This role offers a great opportunity to support a multidisciplinary clinical team in delivering excellent patient care.

Please note: While your main base will be Scotter, you may occasionally need to attend Kirton for staff shortages, meetings, or other requirements.

Working Hours:
  • Monday: 1:30pm – 6:30pm
  • Tuesday: 8:00am – 5:30pm (with 1 hour lunch)
  • Wednesday: Day off
  • Thursday: Day off
  • Friday: 1:30pm – 6:30pm

Total: 18.5 hours per week

Role Overview:

As the first point of contact for patients, you’ll be responsible for managing the reception area and providing vital support to the clinical team. Your duties will include greeting and directing patients, managing appointment bookings, handling incoming calls, and liaising with internal teams and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system
  • Process appointment requests via phone, personal visits, and online
  • Answer and direct incoming calls efficiently
  • Signpost patients to the correct services
  • Act as a communication hub between patients, clinical staff, and external providers
  • Support the team with additional tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
  • Friendly and approachable attitude
  • Flexibility to occasionally travel to Kirton
  • Availability to start immediately
