The Role

Aim: To support a learner with Core subject and PSHE tuitionLocation: At home in GainsboroughFrequency: 2 hours every week dayDuration: End of Year 11 or whenever a suitable school placement can be foundExtra information: This role is not suitable online. They have a diagnosis of ASD and SEMH. Has been out of school since the relationship with the school broke down. They are working well below age-expectations at a 7 year old level. They love playing their play station and does not go out much. They do struggles to reguate emotions and this has been a barrier towards making friends. They can work in short bursts. Are sensory seeking + sensory avoiding. Does not have aspirations for the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tailor sessions to meet the needs of a learner with a complex profile
  • Use trauma-informed and pupil-led approaches to foster engagement and progress

  • Build strong, supportive relationships with the student to encourage confidence and participation

  • Track and report on progress, adapting plans as needed to ensure continued development

Essential Requirements

  • Trauma-informed teaching approach

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service

  • Self-employed status and right to work in the UK

  • Availability during weekday daytime hours

  • Reliable transport to attend in-person sessions in Little Bookham
