Electrical Maintenance Technician

Salary: £44,116 (Including Shift Allowance) + Annual Bonus

The Role: The Maintenance Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of plant and equipment. This position is ideal for a motivated individual with strong electrical skills who is passionate about maintaining and improving industrial equipment. You will work in a dynamic team environment, adhering to strict Health & Safety protocols while contributing to ongoing efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, including both reactive (breakdowns) and proactive (PPM) tasks.

Diagnose and resolve electrical faults in heavy engineering machinery.

Support the installation and commissioning of new and upgraded equipment.

Follow all safety protocols, including lock-off procedures and other site-specific safety measures.

Collaborate effectively with team members, lead technicians, and contractors.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and communicate any outstanding work at shift handover.

Develop skills through training and support the growth of fellow technicians.
Requirements:

Minimum ONC/OND/HND/HNC/NVQ III in Maintenance or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

Proven experience in electrical fault finding and maintenance within a heavy engineering environment.

Expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting AC/DC motors, single and three-phase supplies.

Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to fault diagnosis.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to work at height when required.
Desirable Skills:

Experience with a variety of motors, drives, and starters.

Familiarity with PLCs and HMIs.

HV switching experience with suitable qualifications.

Knowledge of pyrometry.

17th Edition qualification.

Experience with crane maintenance.
-
MEWPs/Forklift certification.
