Our client is seeking skilled Construction and Civil Estimators. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing and securing profitable work, ensuring detailed and competitive tender submissions that meet client expectations.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Act as the principal point of contact between the company and the client's professional team throughout the tendering process.
  • Communicate tender requirements clearly to the bid team and coordinate with internal and external designers to produce advanced designs for pricing.
  • Perform quantity take-offs from tender drawings and build up rates for items in a Bill of Quantities using company resources.
  • Issue supply chain enquiries and contribute to tender stage planning.
  • Innovate and apply value engineering to tenders to enhance competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the tender documents submitted exceed the client's requirements.
  • Present finalised tenders to company directors for approval and manage the submission of final tender documents to the client.
  • Undertake detailed tender management and support the use of digital tools for cost take-off and other estimating activities, such as 5D cost planning.
  • Conduct Tender Health Checks and risk reviews to mitigate risks in tender submissions.
  • Participate in post-tender negotiations and ensure detailed handovers to the delivery team for successful tenders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Relevant qualification in the construction industry (HNC, HND, Degree).
  • Experience with BIM-enabled design and analysis of tender documents/contract terms.
  • Proficiency in costing and developing whole life cycle costs.
  • Ability to develop sub-contract terms and conditions and a compelling value proposition.
  • Skilled in obtaining prices, dealing with variations, and planning.
  • Strong capability in reading technical drawings and performing risk assessments.
  • Excellent attention to detail, commercial awareness, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and team-working abilities, with experience working to tight deadlines.
