Bank Care Assistant– £12.77-£12.97 per hour + Benefits – Gateshead, NE11 9SZ

The Role

We are looking for Bank Care Assistants to join our CQC Outstanding rated residential care service in Whickham. You’ll work flexibly to cover holidays, sickness, and other staff absences, supporting older residents, some of whom live with dementia. This role does not offer sponsorship.

No two days are the same – you might be helping someone with their morning routine, supporting a resident to enjoy an arts and crafts session, or accompanying them to a social event. We’ll give you full training and ongoing support so you can feel confident in your role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide respectful, individualised personal care
  • Support residents with daily activities and hobbies, from gardening to musical evenings
  • Encourage wellbeing through conversation, companionship, and engagement
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high standards of care
  • Follow care plans and maintain accurate records
  • Work across a range of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays
