Sarah McKenna HR are proud to be partnering exclusively with a highly successful SME within the engineering sector to recruit a Group HR Manager. Based in Gateshead, this is a site-based role, ideal for an experienced and hands-on HR professional who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Reporting directly to the Group HR & Marketing Director, you will also be a mentor to the HR Assistant and act as the first point of contact for all HR queries, providing proactive advice, guidance, and solutions across all aspects of HR.

What You’ll Be Doing:

- Lead HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.- Support employee engagement initiatives to foster a motivated and thriving workforce.- Act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries, offering proactive advice and guidance.- Manage training and development programs, ensuring staff qualifications are up-to-date.- Collaborate with senior leaders to deliver strategic HR projects aligned with the People Strategy.- Mentor and support the HR Assistant in their development and daily responsibilities.- Provide guidance on employee relations, supporting formal meetings and processes.- Maintain and update HR policies, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulations.

About You:

- You have strong experience in a generalist senior HR role, ideally within an SME or multi-site environment.- You’re confident managing employee relations, recruitment, and HR systems.- Level 5 CIPD qualification as a minimum- Proven experience and success supporting managers through all aspects of HR- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
