The Role
We are looking for a VMU Technician to join our Gateshead Depot Vehicle Maintenance Unit, Supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our fleet.
You'll be part of a close knit team of 7 colleagues working together to maintain a fleet of around 45 to 50 vehicles.
In this hands on role, you'll carry out inspections, servicing and repairs on vehicles, trailers and associated equipment, helping to ensure our fleet remains compliant, roadworthy and available to meet delivery schedules.
You'll work closely with the VMU Co-ordinators, front line managers and the wider logistics team, contributing to performance targets while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

The Offer:
路Basic Salary: 拢43,172 + Overtime & Benefits = 拢46,000 per annum
路Hours: Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 14:00 & 11:00 - 19:00 (44-hour week).
路Rotating Saturday Morning 06:00am to 14:00pm
路Contract: Full-time, Permanent.
What You'll Be Responsible For
路Inspecting, servicing and repairing vehicles, trailers and ancillary equipment
路Completing work in line with company procedures and DVSA/VOSA standards
路Supporting vehicle availability in line with operational and delivery requirements
路Working safely and in line with environmental, health and safety procedures
路Highlighting safety or compliance concerns to the VMU Co-ordinator or FLM
路Using tools, equipment and resources effectively
路Supporting the use of external contractors where required
路Contributing to shift KPIs through timely and effective maintenance activity
路Carrying out other VMU-related duties as required
