Job Title: Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Gateshead, North East
Hours: 37.5 per week

Company Overview:
An established civil engineering firm specialising in roads and sewers is expanding its team in Gateshead. We are seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the financial aspects of our projects, ensuring efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and oversee budgets, forecasts, and cost plans.
  • Conduct cost value reconciliation and financial reporting.
  • Administer contracts, including managing variations and claims.
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure optimal value.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders for seamless project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying (from any construction background).
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts.
  • Excellent cost management and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.
