Role:Â Our client is seeking a Technical Sales Support Engineer to join their team in Dublin. This role involves direct sales to Utilities and sales through contractors/integration partners in Ireland. The position is predominantly office-based and reports directly to the commercial lead for the team in Ireland. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop both technical and commercial skills.
Responsibilities:
- Sell their automation products and solutions to Power Utilities and through contractors/system integrators in Ireland.
- Promote and sell the full company product portfolio.
- Achieve annual sales targets.
- Support their international business units by tendering technical and commercial proposals.
Key Activities:
- Manage accounts, build and maintain customer relationships, and position them for new opportunities.
- Drive business development.
- Conduct technical sales of existing and new products and solutions into the Power Utility market and other sectors within the UK/Ireland.
- Promote and present their products, solutions, and expertise.
- Tender technical and commercial proposals for both Ireland and export opportunities.
- Drive necessary customer approvals and certifications required for new business.
- Pre-qualify for opportunities.
- Travel within Ireland & Europe for pursuing opportunities and attending meetings, with occasional travel further afield.
Candidate Specification:
Experience:
- Technical background with over two years’ experience in the industry.
- Application engineering background in control and automation projects is preferred.
Desirable:
- Experience in selling to Power Utilities, particularly automation equipment is preferred, but not essential.
- Sales experience in Active Network Management, Smart Grid Solutions, Substation Automation, Renewable Energy, or Communications.
- Ability to work at both strategic and customer-facing levels.
- Electrical Engineering qualification is desirable.
- Ability to identify and develop sales opportunities and market technical solutions and services.
- Experience in producing technical and commercial proposals.
- Proven track record of delivering to sales targets.

- Sales-driven and enthusiastic with a technical background (product and solution training will be provided).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others.
