Hydraulic Modeller - Water Networks

Location: Southern Region (London, West Midlands, or Brighton)
Salary: 45,000 - 50,000 basic + benefits



Excellent Opportunity to Progress into Project Management

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Hydraulic Modeller to join a growing Water Networks team, supporting the design, analysis, and optimisation of clean water infrastructure across the South of England.

This role includes one day on-site and four days remote, with door-to-door travel expenses covered. You can be located anywhere in the UK, so long as you can travel to client offices.

You'll apply your hydraulic modelling expertise while developing project management and stakeholder engagement skills, contributing to sustainable water network solutions that ensure reliable and efficient water supply to communities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and assess hydraulic network design solutions for clean water systems.

  • Undertake capacity assessments, demand forecasting, and performance analysis.

  • Support the design and evaluation of new infrastructure and upgrades.

  • Analyse model outputs to identify bottlenecks, leakage risks, and optimisation opportunities.

  • Prepare technical reports and model deliverables for internal and client stakeholders.

  • Advise on technical solutions, managing communication across engineering, operations, and asset planning.

This position offers a clear route from design engineering into project and stakeholder management within a high-performing team.



Candidate Requirements

  • HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering or related field.

  • Proven experience in the UK water sector utility, consultancy, or contractor.

  • Expertise in clean water hydraulic modelling (not river or coastal).

  • Strong communication and stakeholder skills.

  • Full UK driving licence.



Working Pattern

Hybrid: typically 1-2 days per week on client sites across the South of England, with remote flexibility.
