Our OEM Client based in Gaydon, is searching for a Component Engineer (Suspension) to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a 12-month contract position initially until 31st March 2026, with the potential for further extensions.

Umbrella Pay Rate: £27.03 per hour.

Component design and release role for suspension mechanical and hydraulic components. Responsible for working with multiple potential suppliers to develop components from concept selection through to launch.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Collating and agreeing requirements with internal stakeholders and agreeing / negotiating these design requirements with potential suppliers.
  • Co-ordinating internal/supplier development activities to finalise product specifications.
  • Work with Procurement to manage supplier selection processes.
  • Managing chosen suppliers towards delivering quality products on-time and to cost and attribute targets.
  • Working within the JLR PCDS process, deliver Gateway requirements for components owned.

Skills Required:

Essential:

  • Experience of working with automotive suppliers for mechanical and/or hydraulic components.
  • Experience of component development and design verification planning and management.
  • Experience of JLR on-cycle product and programme delivery processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and team player.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of hydraulics principles and underlying physics.
  • Experience in using Matlab for data analysis.
  • Experience of using quality toolset e.g. DFMEA.

Education:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
