Assembly Operative/ Fettler/ Deburrer/ Polishing

Assembly operatives with experience of Fettling, Deburring, metal work to undertake a variety of processes to produce part of the assembly process, this will also include hand fitting parts and Fettling, deburring and metal polishing of components that contribute full production onsite to meet the high quality required by customers.

We are looking for skilled and experienced people who can ultimately use a range of hand tools and equipment in the assembly, polishing and preparation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Use of Hand Tools such as electric saws.
  • Set and operate bending machines in accordance with the specifications.
  • Hand fit metal parts to the relevant form blocks and digital measuring equipment and make any adjustments necessary.
  • Carry out inspections in accordance with quality standards and issue the appropriate certificates and stamps.
  • To monitor the fitness for purpose of tools and equipment and provide for their replacement and/or recalibration

Characteristics & Skills

  • Broad experience of reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Advanced deburring techniques desirable.
  • Metal Polishing/ fettling / deburring/ acid washing
  • Metal preparation background
  • manufacturing/engineering background.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Mechanical Apprenticeship desirable.
