- Maintain the CNC machines on a day-to-day basis and ensure they are running smoothly.
- Lead and execute test runs.
- Programming machines to customer specifications using drawings provided.
- Setting up and operating both manual and CNC machines.
- Sourcing the necessary tooling and fixturing for all machining operations.
- Keeping standard operating procedures (SOPs) and setup sheets updated.
- Continuously improving machining processes where possible.
- Working in accordance with the company’s Quality Control procedures to ensure all parts meet required specifications.
- Inspecting finished work for quality and accuracy.
- Completing daily checks in line with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) requirements.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area.
- Working efficiently under pressure to meet production demands.
- Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven experience in CNC and manual machining (milling and turning) as well as CNC programming, setting, and operation. Hurco experience advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to read and interpret customer drawings and program into machines accordingly.
- Knowledge of sourcing tooling and fixturing for machining operations.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to inspect and measure work accurately.
- Familiarity with Quality Control procedures and adherence to safety and TPM requirements.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and team-working skills.
- A working knowledge of Continuous Improvement practices and problem-solving skills would be advantageous.
