  • Maintain the CNC machines on a day-to-day basis and ensure they are running smoothly.
  • Lead and execute test runs.
  • Programming machines to customer specifications using drawings provided.
  • Setting up and operating both manual and CNC machines.
  • Sourcing the necessary tooling and fixturing for all machining operations.
  • Keeping standard operating procedures (SOPs) and setup sheets updated.
  • Continuously improving machining processes where possible.
  • Working in accordance with the company’s Quality Control procedures to ensure all parts meet required specifications.
  • Inspecting finished work for quality and accuracy.
  • Completing daily checks in line with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) requirements.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work area.
  • Working efficiently under pressure to meet production demands.
  • Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Proven experience in CNC and manual machining (milling and turning) as well as CNC programming, setting, and operation. Hurco experience advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret customer drawings and program into machines accordingly.
  • Knowledge of sourcing tooling and fixturing for machining operations.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to inspect and measure work accurately.
  • Familiarity with Quality Control procedures and adherence to safety and TPM requirements.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and team-working skills.
  • A working knowledge of Continuous Improvement practices and problem-solving skills would be advantageous.
