Job Purpose:

To provide dedicated 1:1 classroom support for a female Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Child (UASC) within a class of male students, helping her to feel safe, included, and supported in her learning and social development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 academic and emotional support to the female UASC student

  • Assist the student with classroom tasks, communication, and engagement

  • Promote inclusion, confidence, and independence

  • Liaise with class teacher to monitor progress and well-being

  • Support the wider class where appropriate while maintaining focus on the student's needs

  • Follow safeguarding, equality, and school behaviour policies at all times

Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people

  • Empathetic, patient, and understanding approach

  • Ability to build trust and positive relationships

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • A willingness to support the emotional and educational needs of a vulnerable student

  • Female candidate required for safeguarding and pastoral reasons
