Job Title: Maintenance Technician - Recycling PlantLocation: Rochester, Kent.

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to support operations at our recycling facility. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment to ensure minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on conveyors, shredders, balers, compactors, and other machinery

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform timely fixes

  • Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance in accordance with schedules

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports

  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and regulations

  • Assist with equipment installations and upgrades as needed

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in industrial or plant maintenance (recycling or manufacturing preferred)

  • Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call as needed

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in an industrial environment
