Job Title: SEN Science Teacher – Maternity Cover

Salary Range: £130 - £250 per day (Depending on experience)
Start time: Immediate
Contract: Terms 6 and 1Â

GSL Education are currently seeking a passionate SEN Science Teacher for a maternity cover position at a specialist ASD school in Medway. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact while teaching in a highly supportive environment.
About the School: The school is a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting that specialises in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It provides a structured, inclusive environment designed to meet the diverse learning and developmental needs of its pupils.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated Science lessons tailored to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Develop and adapt resources to support diverse learning styles and cognitive abilities.
- Foster a positive and structured learning environment with clear routines and expectations.
- Work closely with teaching assistants and the SEN team to support EHCP targets.
- Monitor and assess student progress, feeding into personalised learning plans.
- Provide emotional support and build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Science, preferably in an SEN or ASD-specialist setting.
- Strong understanding of autism and strategies for supporting learners with complex needs.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A calm, compassionate, and adaptable teaching approach.
- Understanding of various SEN conditions.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
