GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic team in Medway, working with students who need tailored assistance to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN.
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage students' confidence, independence, and engagement in lessons.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Assist with managing behaviour and promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with emotional regulation, communication, and social skills.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training is preferred.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
  • A current CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained) and an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Understanding of various SEN conditions.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
