Morson are working with the UK's Leading Defence Manufacturer and they are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join the team based out of Glascoed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and coordinate cross-functional project plans with various teams (engineering, project management, quality, supply chain, materials, design & manufacture) to ensure successful delivery of projects.
- Collaborate with data to identify target supply chain interventions, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery.
- Ensure clear and acceptable customer requirements for the supply chain.
- Define and agree on objectives with the supply chain.
- Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning tools and techniques to supplier-related change projects (e.g. new sources of supply, amendments to existing sources of supply, new product introduction).
- Support the design and implementation of appropriate supplier development solutions, adopting best practises to address supplier capability gaps and meet Land UK requirements.
- Coach the supply chain on relevant tools and techniques (e.g. APQP) to support supplier development and promote the transfer of best practises.
- Lead supplier relationship improvement activities to foster collaborative working, trust, and effective communication.
- Support cost reduction initiatives by increasing throughput and reducing waste.
- Assist with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party audits of the Procurement Function and Supply Chain as needed.
- Promote safe practises in all supplier engagement.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering, production, or quality-related role.
- Working knowledge of various manufacturing processes and quality standards (ISO, AS, AQAP, etc.).
- Familiarity with Defence Standards and Supply Chain Management.
- Understanding of APQP principles and safety standards.
Desired Skills:
- Experience as a Lead Auditor.
- Proficiency in APQP tools and interpretation of engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Ability to liaise with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and able to manage workload independently.
- Experience with improvement and recovery programmes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Engineering or Quality qualification (Degree, HND, Apprenticeship) preferred.
