Job Summary

Hours -

Mon- Thurs 8.30am-5pm

Friday - 8.30am - 2.30pm


We are currently supporting a well-established engineering firm near Glasgow in their search for an experienced Estimator with a background in light to medium fabrication. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team within a growing company, offering exposure to a range of bespoke projects across fabrication, machining, and welding.



Key Responsibilities


  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for fabrication projects

  • Create tender returns, including final offer letters using company templates

  • Conduct material take-offs, including proprietary items

  • Liaise with clients and internal teams to clarify project requirements

  • Support pricing for site installations where required

  • Carry out site visits as part of the estimation process

  • Maintain and utilise pricing documentation using Excel and Word


Essential Experience & Skills


  • Proven experience in estimating within a light/medium fabrication environment

  • Knowledge of heavy fabrication, pipework, and machining is highly desirable

  • Understanding of full assembly processes including fabrication, machining, and welding

  • Background working on the shop floor in engineering or fabrication workshops

  • Familiarity with site installation pricing is beneficial

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Full UK driving licence (desirable, due to site visit requirements)
