Robert Half is partnered with an FMCG business in Glasgow that is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Financial Controller to join its leadership team.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead the finance department, develop robust financial strategies, and provide sound financial advice and information to the Executive Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and initial review of monthly management accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet) within 3 working days of month-end, including accruals, prepayments, bank reconciliations, and foreign exchange adjustments.
  • Completing Group-specific month-end routines such as sales channel splits, Flow of Products reporting, and headcount tracking.
  • Monthly sales analysis, reconciliations, and preparation of variance reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Generating weekly sales performance and forecast reports to support decision-making.
  • Managing VAT returns and submissions for UK & Ireland, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Overseeing and supporting the Finance Assistant, ensuring the accuracy of payment runs and purchase ledger activities.
  • Assisting in the preparation of statutory accounts, annual audits, and maintaining supporting documentation.
  • Preparing the annual budget and supporting transfer pricing documentation in compliance with Group requirements.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Qualified ICAS/ACCA/CIMA.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and IT skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience of providing supplementary analysis and commentary.
  • Solid commercial financial acumen and knowledge.
  • Able to demonstrate successful business partnering with non-financial teams
