Our client Scottish Power are currently recruiting for a Performance Accountant on a contract basis based in Glasgow City Centre.


This will be a contract role until Dec 2025 and a hybrid role.


Purpose
The Performance Accountant is part of ScottishPower's Group Control team with responsibility for preparing the cashflow report for the group. Working closely with business Control teams you will be a key part of understanding the cashflow movements within each division and ScottishPower as a whole.

Responsibilities
•Prepare the monthly group cashflow report. This includes analysing movements in capital investments and of the main working capital components including trade payables and receivables and inventory.
•Provide variance analysis on movements versus prior year, forecast and budget to senior management. This can include communicating with other business Control teams to understand movements and variances.
•Run queries within the group consolidation system to assist with variance analysis or any ad-hoc queries.
•Ongoing maintenance and improvement of the existing cashflow reports for monthly results along with those for forecasting and budgeting processes.
•Prepare and submit journals to update the group balance sheet position.
•Prepare updates on the external debt position to senior management and the Treasury team.

Skills and Requirements
•Qualified Accountant with experience working in a reporting role within a finance function.
•Strong excel skills.
•Able to work effectively as part of a small team.
•Demonstrates good communication skills at all levels – verbal and written.
•Effective organisational and analytical skills
•Delivery focused and self-motivated individual.
•Knowledge of the SAP ledger system is desirable but not essential.
•Knowledge of group consolidation reporting is desirable but not essential.
•Ability to effectively prioritise workload when dealing with competing deliverables.
