Mobile Customer Support Engineer
Location: Ideally based between Glasgow and Edinburgh, with easy access to the M8 motorway
Working Hours: Vary by site (see below)
Employment Type: Full-time, mobile role across multiple customer sites
Salary: 32,000-34,000 per annum + 17.5% shift allowance + company vehicle + benefits

We're seeking a skilled and customer-focused Mobile Customer Support Engineer to join our team supporting high-speed automation equipment across cash centre sites in Scotland.

About the Role

This mobile role involves servicing and maintaining automated cash handling systems at three key customer locations in Glasgow and Edinburgh. You'll play a vital part in ensuring operational up time, delivering excellent customer service, and meeting service level agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair high-speed automation equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve electromechanical faults
  • Deliver responsive and professional customer support
  • Travel between sites as required (company vehicle provided)
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols
  • Complete service documentation and contribute to weekly reports

Site Locations & Hours

Rotating weekly shifts:

  • Post Office, Glasgow: 06:00-14:00 - Week 1
  • G4S, Glasgow: 07:00-15:00 or 08:00-16:00 - Week 2
  • NatWest, Edinburgh: - Only required to attend on the odd occassion
    • Days: Mon-Fri, 07:30-15:30
    • Nights: Mon-Thurs, 21:30-07:30 (4 x 10hr shifts)

What We're Looking For:

  • Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience
  • Electrical apprenticeship (preferred)
  • CSCS card (preferred but not essential)

Technical Skills & Technologies

  • Familiarity at a basic level with M5/M7, CPS, C1, C2, C4, C5, X7/X8 Laurel Note Counters
  • Basic experience with Erapa equipment (e.g. bundlers, shrink wrap, coin equipment)
  • Preferable (not essential): Datacard MX6100, Canon VP140, BOWE Systec, Enveloper
  • Experience with coin equipment (heavy and desktop), and coin ancillary equipment
  • Fully IT conversant across a range of software packages

Other Requirements

  • Experience in electromechanical engineering (ideally 50/50 split)
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Banking or cash centre experience is a plus, but not essential
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and travel between sites
