The role: Working as part of the Integrated Platform Management Systems team. Authoring, developing and managing documentation to support an PMC solution for the River Class Destroyer. As an PMC engineer you will be deeply involved in the development of a software solution that allows for a lean manning approach to the River Class Destroyer. The following documents and activities will be integtral to your role:
• Interface Control Documents
• Technical Equipment Specifications
• Other contract deliverables as required
• Support Change and configuration management
• Key Stakeholder engagement (External/Internal)
• Support PQ reviews and closure
• OEM documentation reviews
• Support implementation of design rules
• Model reviews
• Support product safety engineers as required
Alongside the above, you will be expected to support the wider team as they go about their tasks.
The core duties for this role will be as follows:
• Author, develop and manage Interface Control Documents
• Author, develop and manage Technical Equipment Specifications
• Author, develop and manage Schedules of Work
• Support the Senior/Principal Engineers in the discharge of their roles
• Change management support
• Configuration management support
• Key stakeholder support (Internal/External)
• Review all OEM deliverable documentation
• Author, develop and manage keyplans and schematics
• Identify and manage design rules to implementation
• Support development and management of I/O schedules
• Alongside the above, any additional documentation required to satisfy the contractual obligations of the project
Individuals will be required to have the skills and competencies outlined in the competency framework descriptors which can be found on the relevant Develop yourself intranet site which can be found here. In summary, the role will require the following skills to be successful:
• Minimal experience in engineering or a defence related industry
• Strong understanding of Detail Design Requirements as immediate customer in Engineering Lifecycle
• Understanding of lifecycle management process
• Understanding of requirements acceptance process
• Good knowledge of current discipline
• Able to perform analysis using recognised analytical tools and to make sound judgements
• Sufficient capability to be able to make correct trade-off decisions
• Experience in an electrical engineering environment
• Good verbal and written communication with management and peers
• Flexibility through response to radical changes
• Understanding of product security
• Understanding of product safety
