We are seeking an experienced and motivated Commissioning Children's Home Manager to lead the establishment and registration of a new children's residential home. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the home's vision, developing its policies and procedures, recruiting a dedicated team, and ensuring full regulatory compliance in preparation for Ofsted registration and inspection. This is a unique opportunity to create a nurturing and high-quality care environment for vulnerable children and young people from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:-
Lead the full commissioning process for a new children's home, from planning and setup through to operational launch.

Work with senior leadership to define the home's ethos, care model, and strategic objectives.

Oversee the property setup to meet Ofsted and regulatory standards.

Develop all necessary policies, procedures, risk assessments, and care planning frameworks.

Lead the Ofsted registration process, acting as the Registered Manager once operational (if applicable).

Recruit, train, and supervise staff to form a cohesive and child-centered team.

Establish safeguarding, quality assurance, and monitoring systems.

Build partnerships with local authorities, social workers, health professionals, and other stakeholders.
Essential:
-
Proven experience managing or commissioning children's residential homes.

NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

In-depth knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.

Demonstrable experience with Ofsted registration and inspections.

Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:

Experience in trauma-informed care models or therapeutic approaches.

Previous success in opening or registering a new children's home.
