Trainee / Graduate Civil Engineer
Are you ready to start your engineering career and make a real impact from day one?
We’re looking for a motivated Trainee or Graduate Civil Engineer to join a growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an HNC, HND, or degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline) who’s keen to learn, gain hands-on experience, and grow into a professional engineer.
You’ll work closely with their Senior Engineer and project teams, gaining exposure to all aspects of civil engineering projects across the infrastructure and environmental sectors — from initial scoping through to on-site delivery.
Â
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist with project scoping – visiting sites, assessing conditions, and gathering key information.
- Capture site data – taking accurate photos, notes, and measurements for project documentation.
- Support quality assurance – help prepare and review Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Inspection and Performance Reports (IPRs).
- Collaborate with the engineering team – report findings, discuss technical solutions, and contribute to project progress.
- Split your time 50/50 between the East Kilbride office and various sites across Scotland (a full driving licence is necessary).
What We’re Looking For
- A recent graduate or trainee with an HNC, HND, or degree in Civil Engineering (or similar).
- A genuine interest in infrastructure and environmental engineering.
- A keen eye for detail, enthusiasm to learn, and a proactive attitude.
- Basic understanding of civil engineering principles (training will be provided).
- Ability to travel to sites as required.
What We Offer
- Comprehensive on-the-job training and mentoring from experienced engineers.
- Exposure to a variety of real-world civil engineering projects across Scotland.
- Career progression opportunities as your skills and experience develop.
- Competitive starting salary with clear room to grow.
- A supportive, down-to-earth team culture where learning and development are encouraged.
Why This Role?
If you’re looking for a role where no two days are the same — where you’ll be out on site one day and contributing to engineering plans the next — this is the perfect place to start your journey. You’ll gain hands-on experience, real responsibility, and the chance to build a rewarding career in civil engineering with a supportive and forward-thinking team.
