First People Solutions is proud to be working with a highly respected consulting engineer as they continue to expand their team. We're seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join their Glasgow office and contribute to an exciting and diverse portfolio of projects across multiple sectors.
If you're a graduate-level engineer with 2-4 years of post-degree experience in geotechnical design, and you're ready to take the next step in your career, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
The Role
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will:
- Prepare technical drawings, calculations, and specifications for a wide range of geotechnical works, including foundations, retaining walls, slope stability, and earthworks.
- Carry out feasibility studies, ground investigations, and geotechnical design.
- Support the delivery of design solutions for both current and upcoming projects.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Earth Science, or a related discipline.
- 2-4 years' professional experience with a UK-based design engineering consultancy.
- Practical experience in foundations, retaining walls, slope stability, and earthworks.
- Knowledge of relevant geotechnical design software (GEO5 is desirable).
- Background in sectors such as rail, highways, power, defence, life sciences, or water (advantageous).
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site when required.
