A UK wide, multi-disciplinary consultancy's Rail Team in Glasgow is looking for a Rail Infrastructure Engineer to join the team of 12 and take an active role in the detailed design, assessment and inspection of a fantastic range of projects.

As a Rail Infrastructure Engineer you will be involved in the following projects to name a few:

  • Retaining Walls
  • New Bridge Design
  • Culverts
  • Coastal Defence
  • Access for All Station Bridges
  • Viaducts
  • Marina Expansions
  • Platform Extensions
  • Canopy Design

You will be given full support towards Chartership, there are 4 engineering sponsors in just a team of 12 for you to get support from in order to achieve Chartership with the ICE. This is also where you'll find promotions, with Chartership comes promotion and a clear route to Partner.

Rail Infrastructure Engineer Responsibilities

  • Prepare calculations and documentation for engineering projects.
  • Liaise with other members of the design team to achieve a co-ordinated design.
  • Undertake analysis and design using a range of software packages including finite element analysis such as LUSAS or Midas.
  • Develop design and co-ordination skills to progress as an Engineer.
  • Undertake client relationship management.
  • Input to fee proposals and bidding opportunities.

Rail Infrastructure Engineer Requirements

  • Chartered or approaching Chartered status through ICE or IStructE.
  • Relevant experience of civil and structural engineering problem-solving and development of sound engineering solutions.
  • Good report writing, communication and numerical skills.
  • Flexible and enthusiastic approach to working within a team structure.
  • Confidence and ability to take responsibility for work on projects, small and large.
