This is a wonderful opportunity to join my client, a trusted, green-minded Multidisciplinary Consultancy, dedicated to broadening their geographical reach by establishing a brand new office location in beautiful Scotland. Known for lending their expertise to a diverse range of projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are actively seeking a driven, experienced Senior Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, who is willing to take on a broad range of challenging projects. You will be working alongside a newly-established team of infrastructure design experts, based near the vibrant, artsy city of Glasgow.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • Contributing to the design of a number of projects and developments
  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of engineering projects, from inception through to successful delivery and implementation
  • Mentoring and supporting colleagues in their development within the company
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Preparing and checking technical documents, including reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and method statements
  • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and best practice, upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
  • Acting as a company representative at client meetings, site visits, and other events

Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • A UK Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Possess Chartered Status with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE)
  • Experience of working in a design-based role, within a UK consultancy
  • Considerable experience of working on infrastructure (especially highways and drainage), housing developments, and energy engineering projects
  • Experience of earthworks and drainage network modelling
  • Proficient in the use of various software packages (to include Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and others)
  • Considerable experience of writing and checking a variety of technical documents
  • Demonstrable experience of liaising with clients and stakeholders
  • Excellent organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • A UK Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
  • Experience of preparing Transport Assessments
  • Experience of leading projects/teams
  • Experience of working in a public-facing role
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
