This is a brilliant opportunity to join my client, a well-established, expanding Multidisciplinary Consultancy, dedicated to broadening their geographical reach by opening a brand new office location in Bonnie Scotland. Known for lending their expertise to a number of high-profile projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are currently searching for a talented, keen Senior Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, who is willing to take on a variety of new and challenging projects. You will be working alongside a newly-established team of design experts, based near the vibrant, multicultural city of Glasgow.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • Contributing to the design of infrastructure projects and developments across the local region and beyond
  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of various projects, from inception through to successful delivery/implementation
  • Mentoring and supporting colleagues' professional development
  • Liaising with clients and other stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Preparing and checking technical documents, to include reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, and more
  • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and best practice, ensuring you uphold the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
  • Acting as a company representative at client meetings, site visits, etc.

Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering (or a similar subject)
  • Possess Chartered Status with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE)
  • Extensive experience of working in a design-based role, within a UK-based consultancy or Local Authority setting
  • Considerable experience of working on infrastructure (particularly highways and drainage), housing developments, and energy projects
  • Experience of earthworks and drainage network modelling
  • Proficient in the use of various software systems (including Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Considerable experience of writing and checking a variety of technical documents
  • Demonstrable experience of liaising with clients and stakeholders within the industry
  • Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • A Higher Degree in a relevant discipline
  • Experience of authoring Flood Risk and/or Transport Assessments
  • Experience of leading projects/teams
  • Experience of working in a public-facing role
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
