GM Global are working with a leading Civil/Structural Consultancy in Glasgow City Centre looking to a hire a Civil Technician or Senior Civil Technician.

Our client are multidisciplinaryand therefore can offer full turnkey project solutions to their customers. This in turn is a great opportunityfor the Civil Technician to engage with M&E, QS, Architectural personnel all working within the same team and help gain a better understanding of all the contributing elements of a project.

Job Description

An experienced Technician with knowledge of CADand experienced in the production of engineering drawings.

General Requirements and Attributes

  • HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or similar field.
  • Relevant engineering and drafting experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of CAD to work on projects across commercial, industrial and residential projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing and producing technical documents including drawings, models, and earthwork quantities.
  • Engaging with clients, sub-consultants, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting the team with project delivery.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Technical knowledge, including use of industry standard road and/or drainage design software and sound knowledge of current design standards.
  • Road Design and drainage design.
  • Obtain appropriate Technical Approvals including RCC and S56.
  • 2D drawing production using AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work as part of an experienced team of professionals.
  • High standards of written and oral communication.
  • Good appreciation of project management.
