- Set up and operate CNC grinding machines, ensuring accurate and consistent machining of precision components.
- Load raw materials and unload finished parts, managing workflow to maintain production efficiency.
- Adjust machine parameters such as speeds, feeds, and wheel positions to achieve optimal results and tight tolerances.
- Read and interpret technical engineering drawings, working to exacting customer specifications and tolerances.
- Follow detailed procedures and safety guidelines, complying with all company standards, operating protocols, and documentation requirements.
- Maintain detailed logs of production output, machine adjustments, faults, and repairs.
- Carry out routine inspections and basic maintenance, identifying mechanical or safety issues before escalation.
- Proven experience in both manual and CNC grinding, with hands-on knowledge of surface and cylindrical grinding techniques.
- Familiarity with Jones & Shipman machines, or similar high-precision grinding equipment.
- Confident in reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings, ensuring components are machined to exact specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to work to tight tolerances and high-quality standards, particularly on complex or critical precision components.
