School Chef

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Chef to join our busy catering team, serving nutritious meals to over 1,000 primary and secondary pupils each day.

In this vital role, you'll be responsible for:

• Preparing and cooking high-quality meals
• Designing varied and appealing menus
• Supporting the production and delivery of food across the school

You'll ensure all food preparation complies with the Food and Drink (Scotland) Regulations 2020, as well as other relevant policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong culinary skills and experience in a high-volume kitchen
• Good physical health and fitness to meet the demands of the role
• A team player who works well under pressure
• Commitment to food safety and regulatory compliance

Working Hours:

• 32.5 hours per week during term time (39 weeks)
• Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 2:30pm (negotiable)
• Potential to increase to 35 hours per week
• Occasional evening or holiday hours for school events/menu planning (paid additionally)

Salary & Benefits:

• £14.65 per hour
• Annual salary: £21,139 (based on 32.5 hours/week)
• Full-time equivalent: £29,710
