Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £47,239 + £2,140 call-out allowance + bonus + benefits

Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer looking for a varied role within a modern, forward-thinking energy recovery facility? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading organisation at the forefront of sustainable waste and renewable energy solutions.

Our client’s Glasgow facility processes general waste, recycling the majority of materials into reusable resources or converting them into renewable energy. It’s one of only three sites of its kind in the UK, playing a vital role in reducing landfill and supporting the UK’s net-zero goals.

The Role

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and optimisation of EC&I equipment across the facility.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across disciplines, supporting plant operations and ensuring that maintenance plans and targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and within environmental standards.

Your role will also include delivering improvement projects to enhance plant reliability and reduce operational costs, as well as coordinating contractors to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in EC&I engineering within the process or manufacturing industry
  • City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 / HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems and DCS/SCADA
  • Three phase motors essential (415 and below)
  • Strong understanding of environmental, health and safety standards
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and instrument loop drawings
  • Logical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
  • 18th Edition wiring regulations and a formal electrical qualification (multi-skilled) – desirable

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, days (40 hours per week)
  • Call-Out: 1 in 4 weeks, with additional paid hours when called out
