Our Client, a leading company in the medical device industry, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their R&D department. This is a permanent position based in Glasgow


Role Summary: As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Our Client, you will play a crucial role in the development of diagnostic systems used in hospital and critical care settings. You will be responsible for mechanical development from concept to system integration, maintaining designs using SolidWorks, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop mechanical designs for new and existing instruments
  • Define technical specifications and conduct construction design
  • Integrate interfaces within mechanical systems
  • Participate in agile project planning and implementation
  • Perform engineering analysis and tests on designs
  • Support design transfer to operations and provide expertise in materials and production processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external development partners


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in developing complex systems in regulated industries
  • Proficiency in CAD tools like SolidWorks and knowledge of injection moulding
  • Strong project management skills and leadership experience
