Job Role:
As a Stage 1 Outfit Engineer, you will undertake a defined range of Wholeship - Integration activities including Stage 1 Outfit systems and compartment designs. Supplying advice and support to internal and external customers ensuring defined objectives are achieved, whilst continually maintaining quality and service requirements. Stage 1 Outfit includes the preparation of technical specification documents, drawings and compartment arrangements, including modifying aspects of the reference design equipment to suit the HCF Customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and update technical equipment specifications under guidance and carry out engineering design activities in line with all quality and technical standards.
- Co-ordinate with Suppliers to ensure that the equipment designs are compliant against the specification.
- Liaise with our Customer, internal & external Stakeholders and Suppliers in assigned work areas to discuss engineering matters.
- Co-ordinate with systems engineers and detail designers on the integration of Outfit systems.
- Managing issues and modifications through the change process and implementing the solution.
- Modifying design solutions to meet the HCF Customer requirements, reviewing the proposed items against the reference design and managing them through the process.
- Support Hazard and Safety Reviews.
- Support Design Reviews and Zonal Reviews.
- Carry out analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of material, technical & operational options. With the preparation of reports with suggested recommendations to support the proposed design solution.
- Contribute to identification and closure of issues emerging from all product lifecycle stages and manage the resulting change.
- Update lifecycle management toolset (parts, systems, occurrences & compartment data) to ensure it correctly presents the design.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience of working with multiple project stakeholders at various levels
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to exchange information to both internal and external customers
Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge and experience of naval and / or commercial ship outfit systems with the experience to support system and spatial integration issues with other disciplines.
- Experience writing and reviewing technical reports and specifications
- Proven experience of using relevant industry standards
- Qualification in STEM based discipline or relevant experience

- Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Foran, Windchill
