I am recruiting on behalf of my client based in Bishopbriggs, who are seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in German or French, both written and spoken, and will support the company's global accounts function.

The Accounts Payable Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that all supplier invoices are accurately recorded, approved, and paid in a timely manner. This role involves close collaboration with finance teams across multiple international centres of excellence, as well as the centralised Accounting & Reporting team in Glasgow.

Key Responsibilities
* Managing the accounts payable mailbox and resolving supplier queries.
* Processing a high volume of invoices while ensuring compliance with country-specific requirements.
* Ensuring accuracy in VAT and tax postings (e.g. withholding tax) in accordance with local legislation.
* Processing both manual and automated payment runs.
* Managing key supplier relationships to maximise discounts and ensure continuity of supply.
* Preparing vendor statement reconciliations.
* Performing balance sheet reconciliations.
* Regularly reviewing and maintaining vendor open items.

Key Requirements
* Fluent in German or French, both spoken and written.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Analytical and organised, with excellent prioritisation skills.
* Previous experience in a finance or accounts payable role.
* Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
