Job Title: Multi-Skilled Operative

Location: Glasgow

Contract: Full-Time – 40 hours per week (Shift pattern including nights, Monday to Sunday)

Salary: £33,640 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance) + annual bonus scheme

Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a reliable and safety-conscious Multi-Skilled Operative to join a dynamic team at a major Energy Recovery Facility in Glasgow. This role plays a key part in supporting waste management and energy production operations through a variety of site-based tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the weighbridge system to monitor and log waste deliveries
  • Drive and operate a Forklift Truck (FLT) to transport materials safely
  • Manage Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) crane operations
  • Perform general site duties, including litter picking and cleaning
  • Clear blockages and conduct basic maintenance on plant equipment
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and environmental regulations at all times

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Previous experience working in a production or industrial environment
  • Good awareness of Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to use basic IT systems including Microsoft Outlook
  • Valid Forklift Truck licence (and/or Shovel licence)

Desirable:

  • Experience operating cranes or weighbridge systems
  • Awareness of environmental best practices in industrial settings
