Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer - field based to cover sites around Glasgow and further if required,
Salary: Circa 52,000 +van + bonus
Hours: 40 per week, shift patterrns to cover from 03:00 to 22:00
The opportunity
A great opportunity for an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support a network of automated depots across the Edinburgh region. The role suits someone who enjoys a mix of electrical and mechanical work, thrives in a fast-paced automated environment, and is confident working independently across multiple sites. You will help keep mission-critical sortation equipment running safely, reliably and efficiently to support continuous operations.
Key responsibilities
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, carrying out detailed electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
- Complete ad hoc repair tasks across all types of sortation and conveyor equipment.
- Deliver planned, preventative and reactive maintenance in line with maintenance schedules and standards.
- Carry out servicing activities and accurately complete service reports and updates on internal maintenance systems.
- Use SCADA and related control systems to support fault diagnosis and resolution.
- Liaise with on-site Security, Operations and IT teams to plan and complete work in line with operational requirements.
- Promote and adhere to Health and Safety policies at all times, including full compliance with COSHH and other relevant regulations.
About you
You will have completed a recognised engineering or maintenance apprenticeship, or hold an HNC/HND (or equivalent) with an electrical bias. You are comfortable managing your own workload, planning your visits and prioritising tasks across a cluster of depots.
You will also bring:
- Experience in a fast-paced automated or distribution environment, with strong electrical and mechanical repair skills.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving ability, with the resilience to work under pressure and within tight timeframes.
- High levels of self-motivation, flexibility and ownership of issues through to resolution.
- A collaborative, positive mindset and strong communication skills when working with site teams.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between regional sites as required.
