  • Our client is seeking 2 Senior Quantity Surveyors (QS) for various SSE projects located in Aberdeen and Glasgow.
  • The role requires a commitment to one of these locations and offers an ASAP start on a 6-month rolling contract inside IR35.
  • Candidates should have proven experience as a Senior QS, ideally with at least 5 years of experience in power transmission or civil infrastructure.
  • The position offers a salary of £50,000 to £70,000 per year, depending on experience, and includes a hybrid work model with 3 days in the office or on-site.
  • Key responsibilities include leading commercial management, overseeing procurement, ensuring compliance with NEC contracts, and preparing monthly cost reports.
  • One of our clients are looking for 2 Senior QS to assist on various SSE projects - locations are Aberdeen and Glasgow.

    You would need to be able to commit to one of these locations.

    Set up:

    • ASAP start
    • 6 month rolling contract
    • Inside IR35 -
    • Hybrid - 3 days in office/site

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead commercial management of the converter station build and associated civil, electrical, and structural packages.
    • Oversee procurement, valuations, variations, and final accounts for subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Ensure compliance with NEC3/NEC4 contract frameworks and GE's internal governance.
    • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost performance, reporting to senior stakeholders.
    • Manage compensation events, early warnings, and risk registers.
    • Collaborate with engineering, planning, and site teams to ensure commercial alignment.
    • Prepare monthly cost reports and commercial dashboards

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience as Senior QS
    • Ideally experience within power transmission, converter stations, substations, or civil infrastructure.
    • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts.
    • Proven track record in managing large-scale packages (10M+).
    • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.

    Desirable:

    • Experience on converter station or substation builds.
    • Familiarity with SSEN Transmission standards and processes.
