Support For Learning Assistant - Glasgow, UK

Our client is looking for a temporary Support for Learning Assistant on a temporary contract to start as soon as possible.
Job Responsibilities

  • Assist students with physical and/or learning disabilities to access the curriculum effectively.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students, ensuring their individual needs are met with patience and understanding.
  • Help facilitate classroom activities and learning sessions under the guidance of teaching staff.
  • Support students during breaks, lunch, and other school activities to promote social inclusion.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs as required, ensuring student safety and dignity.
  • Maintain a positive and encouraging environment to foster student confidence and independence.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health & safety protocols.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) scheme clearance for working with children.
  • Previous experience supporting students with physical and/or learning disabilities is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with students and staff.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting student needs.
  • Flexibility to work two days per week, on Mondays and Thursdays, from 8.45 am to 4.45 pm, including a one-hour lunch break and a tea break.
  • Relevant qualifications in supporting learning or special educational needs are advantageous but not essential.
