We are working with several manufacturing companies across Glasgow who are looking for Mechanical Fitters. These roles vary in working hours and salary. Please see a overview of the key responsibilities of the roles.
Responsibilities
- Mechanically fit and assemble components according to technical drawings and customer specifications.
- Perform quality checks on finished products.
- Meet monthly delivery targets.
- Produce customer-compliant products using quality controls.
- Interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, and bill of materials to produce compliant products.
- Report quality concerns and kit shortages to the mechanical team lead.
- Verify goods inward material is correct to drawing requirements pre-assembly operations.
- Ensure safe working practices are always met while adhering to the health and safety policy.
- Contribute to continuous improvement.
Person
- Experience working in a similar role or a keen interest in developing new skills in precision mechanical engineering.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Experience in manual drilling, reaming, and tapping is preferred.
- Experience in deburr operations is desirable.
- Background working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
