Alexander Associates are working with a groundbreaking new space company who are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join their team.
The Production Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing design, production, and testing of low-fidelity prototypes and processes across the company’s product range. This role contributes to design input, problem identification and resolution, equipment usage and training, and technical oversight across all product lines. The engineer will also troubleshoot machinery issues and help maintain operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with technical leads to create CAD/CAM models and drawings for parts and sub-assemblies across the product portfolio.
- Design, construct, and characterise jigs and fixtures essential for testing OSS products.
- Assemble breadboards and development prototypes; assist in supporting test campaigns when required.
- Develop and document Manufacturing and Assembly Procedures (MAPS) for various production operations.
- Participate in the MAIT (Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration and Testing) process by reviewing and approving engineering drawings.
- Provide technical support to the procurement team, including engagement with external suppliers throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Oversee manufacturing processes to ensure work meets high quality and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design and production issues, offering effective recommendations.
- Offer technical input during the review of NCRs, supporting the Product Assurance Manager.
- Stay updated with developments in engineering and production, sharing insights with the MAIT team.
- Prepare production plans for current and upcoming projects.
- Evaluate production strategies and provide recommendations for process improvement.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience in a production role within a highly regulated environment (experience in the Space sector preferred).
- Proficiency in CAD software, ideally SolidWorks.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawing standards and metrology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and build strong working relationships across teams.
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational abilities, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- High attention to detail.
