Due to a drive for greater success, this advanced manufacturing business is currently searching for a Outfit Engineer to add to their talented, hardworking team in Glasgow on an initial 12 months contract. Striving for innovation and creativity you can ensure no two days will be the same. This role will be offering 38.21 Umbrella per hour inside IR35

The role:

Undertake a defined range of Wholeship - Integration activities including Outfit systems, compartment design and integration activities in line with all relevant processes and quality requirements.

The role holder will require knowledge and experience of naval and / or commercial ship outfit systems with the experience to support system and spatial integration issues with other disciplines.

Outfit includes the design or operation of:

  • Deck coverings, Coatings, Insulation & Linings
  • Doors, Hatches and Scuttles
  • Various ship / marine compartments / doors

Skills:

  • Good Experience in an Outfit Ship Design environment.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to management and peers.
  • Displays flexibility through response to radical changes.
  • Strong understanding of Detail Design Requirements as immediate customer in Engineering Lifecycle
  • Experience with CAD software like AutoCAD or FORAN is desirable.

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified likely to be in a Technology, Engineering or Science related discipline
  • Working towards the requirements for registration as Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council
  • Good experience in engineering or a defence related industry.
