Salary: 43,381.60 per annum
Hours: 38-hour working week (average 42 hours per week across shift pattern)
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off - rotating days and nights
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer with an electrical bias to join a high-performing manufacturing team within a modern, fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving complex production machinery and systems to ensure consistent performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
Diagnose and repair faults on production machinery, ensuring minimal downtime.
Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives within the manufacturing process.
Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery upgrades.
Work closely with production and engineering teams to optimise equipment performance.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and update relevant documentation.
Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety and quality standards.
Skills & Experience Required
Time-served or qualified to at least HNC level in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
Strong mechanical knowledge with proven experience in electrical fault-finding and repair.
Experience in an automated, high-volume manufacturing or packaging environment preferred.
Good understanding of PLC systems, sensors, drives, and control systems (desirable).
Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
