One day you could be fixing a loose loo seat, the next you might be supporting a site through a complete power outage. This is a hands-on position that spans multiple disciplines across our stores, so adaptability and problem-solving are key.
We’re looking for someone who thrives on variety and enjoys rolling up their sleeves to get the job done. You’ll tackle two types of work:
- Reactive Maintenance – responding to urgent repair requests and prioritising jobs based on impact.
- Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) – scheduled tasks to keep our sites running smoothly and avoid future issues.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support City Technicians with major and minor maintenance tasks.
- Complete all PPM and reactive maintenance within agreed timescales, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Respond promptly to Helpdesk service calls, assess requirements, and carry out repairs effectively.
- Prioritise and complete minor maintenance and repairs quickly and efficiently.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order at all times.
Qualifications / Experience:
Essential
- City & Guilds / NVQ Level 1 in Electrical, Carpentry, Plumbing, or Roofing
- Previous experience in building maintenance within a commercial or retail environment
Desirable
- Ability to maintain and repair a wide range of equipment
- Strong focus on quality, speed, and efficiency of work
The Ideal Candidate
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience using an iPad-based maintenance system (Mercury)
- Previous PPM and reactive maintenance experience in a retail setting
