First People Solutions require an enthusiastic, dedicated Apprentice Payroll Administrator to join our established fast paced team. This role is ideally suited to a logically minded candidate with volume administration and payroll experience. Candidates must demonstrate excellent reconciliation and organisational skills and be comfortable interacting directly with senior management across internal and external stakeholders. Throughout this job role you will gain hands-on experience in payroll processing while working towards a nationally recognized qualification. Key Tasks

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Maintain accurate employee records including timesheets, holiday entitlements, and absences
  • Support the reconciliation of payroll data and resolve discrepancies
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and company policies
  • Learn to use payroll software and systems effectively
  • Collaborate with the finance and HR teams to support wider administrative tasks

Key skills required for role

  • Excellent numerical skills
  • A working knowledge of windows based financial packages, strong Excel knowledge and good IT skills are vital for this position
  • Ability to work under pressure and meeting tight accounts deadlines are key to this position.
  • A high level of interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to maintain confidential information is essential

The right person will communicate well at all levels, make financial information easy to understand and push for process improvements, presenting these confidently to the board.
