Our client, a well-established and highly respected Civil Engineering Main Contractor with an annual turnover of £150 million, is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager on a permanent basis. This role sits within their civil engineering division, delivering a wide range of projects primarily across Scotland as part of a significant long-term framework agreement.

You will play a vital role within a collaborative and supportive team environment—one that champions innovation, creative thinking, and the consistent delivery of high-quality infrastructure solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing both the civil engineering and build elements of projects, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, economically, and in full compliance with all relevant regulations.

The ideal candidate will also bring a solid understanding of the various construction trades, with the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams on site.

Due to the seniority of the position, prior experience managing diverse civil engineering schemes—particularly within the Scottish Power Framework—is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) matters
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Monitor and manage project budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery
  • Supervise and coordinate site personnel across civil and build activities
  • Manage commercial aspects of project delivery in collaboration with commercial teams
  • Ensure accurate reporting and maintain comprehensive project records
  • Provide clear communication and updates to clients, stakeholders, and the general public

Essential Requirements:

  • Educated to degree or HND level in a relevant Civil Engineering discipline
  • Demonstrable experience managing civil engineering and associated build projects
  • Strong working knowledge of the construction trades and how they integrate within wider project delivery
  • Proven track record in delivering complex infrastructure works
  • In-depth technical knowledge and understanding of site-based civil engineering and building activities
  • Previous experience on Scottish Power Frameworks is highly desirable
  • Experience in bid coordination, tendering, or pre-construction is advantageous but not essential
  • Competency in CAD, Civils 3D and related visualisation software
  • Excellent analytical, report-writing, and communication skills
  • Strong leadership and organisational capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
  • Full UK driving licence

What’s on Offer:

  • A highly competitive salary
  • Generous holiday entitlement
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • The opportunity to work with a forward-thinking company that actively invests in employee development and long-term business growth
