Anderson Knight is currently recruiting a Senior Buyer for one of our clients based in Glasgow City Centre.

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services, ensuring optimal cost, quality, and delivery. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluation and improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends and emerging suppliers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and provide procurement support.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure continuity and reliability.
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, including cost savings, supplier performance, and market trends.

Qualifications:

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.
