A leading infrastructure contractor with a strong presence in the UK civil engineering and rail sectors is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering complex and critical infrastructure projects across Scotland.
As a Senior Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of civil engineering projects, with a strong emphasis on rail infrastructure. You'll work closely with the pre-construction, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure winning bids and long-term project success.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for civil engineering and rail projects
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documents to determine accurate costings
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations
* Attend tender meetings and contribute to bid strategy
* Evaluate risk and value management
* Provide support during project handover and throughout project delivery phases
Requirements
* Proven experience in estimating within the civil engineering or rail infrastructure sectors
* Strong understanding of NEC contracts and tender processes
* Proficient with estimating software and MS Office Suite
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills
* Able to work independently and within a team
* Relevant qualifications in civil engineering, quantity surveying, or similar
