We are seeking a skilled Fabric Technician to join our team and perform high-quality building services maintenance on site.

This role involves carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring that all work meets customer expectations and complies with health and safety standards.

Job Description

As a Fabric Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of fabric-related duties, including plumbing, carpentry, and general building repairs.

You will also play a key role in maintaining the integrity and appearance of building structures, as well as coordinating with contractors and other FM teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair of building structures (walls, ceilings, floors, roofs).
  • Carry out painting, decorating, and surface finishing tasks.
    Undertake carpentry and joinery work (doors, windows, partitions, furniture).
  • Complete plumbing and basic pipework repairs.
    Inspect building fabric for damage, wear, or compliance issues.
  • Install and maintain fixtures and fittings.
  • Manage small renovation or refurbishment projects.
  • Ensure adherence to health & safety standards and complete risk assessments.
  • Respond to reactive and planned maintenance requests within agreed timeframes.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Proven experience in plumbing, carpentry, and fabric-related building services maintenance.
  • Previous experience delivering reactive and PPM maintenance in commercial properties.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements.
  • Ability to fault-find and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Experience working within FM or building services environments.
  • Good communication and coordination skills for working with contractors and FM teams.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work to deadlines.
